What is an enzyme?

An enzyme is a protein that assist in chemical reactions which makes it possible for life to exist.

Why are enzymes important?

Most commonly enzymes help digestion by breaking down foods we eat. The more natural enzymes we consume through raw foods the less our bodies have to make for digestion. In turn, this leads to the body being less stressed and reducing its workload.

Digestion and Enzymes

We must get enzymes through the food we eat or from supplements we take. It is always important to recognize what enzymes we are consuming. If you are feeling down you may not be getting the proper nutrients out of your food because your digestive system is not working properly. One cure could be the enzymes you are consuming. With the proper enzymes, our overall health and digestion will improve . In addition you will feel better too.

Below is a list of some digestive Enzymes:

  • Protease
  • Amylase
  • Lipase
  • Cellulase
  • Bromelain

About the author

The founder of EDL personally knows how far help can go. In the middle of law school, 2010, he suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury. He had to relearn how to do the most basic activities like walking or talking. With self determination and help from therapy and the department of assistive and rehabilitative services (DARS), he graduated law school and created this nonprofit. Without help, he firmly believes things would have turned out much different. That is why EDL wants to help. We know firsthand how much of a difference it makes.
